Can a U.S citizen travel to cuba?

I was born in colombia, I became a U.S citizen like 7 yrs ago. I want to travel to cuba in september with my boyfriend so we can celebrate his sisters fifth teen . Is it still illegal to travel to cuba if you don't have family over there?
