ins Creed 2 Help?

As soon as I got the poison from Da Vinci, and I tried to use it, my weapons wheel would no longer come up. I've tried switching controllers, turning off the game, turning off the system, but nothing seems to work and need to access my weapons to play. Any ideas why this is happening?
